Again, not much happened last week. Practice, Small groups, practice, and a bunch of sitting around. Saturday I went out to Edwardsville to watch the game and hang out with Darren and Lisa. We ended up at some party hanging out with a whole bunch of French people.
Lost our game on Sunday something fierce. Didn’t play all that great. Couldn’t buy a shot. I got another T from this piece of crap ref that I hate (but it’s ok because he also hates me). But I have to practice what I preach and rise above the calls and keep my head in the game.
I realized today why I like Dawson’s Creek so much. There are enough happy moments to give me hope, and there are enough sad moments to always make my troubles seem small. So however I feel, it always makes me feel better. Everwood is kind of the same way, but on a lesser scale.
Tournament in the ghetto this weekend. Sadly I don’t forsee us doing that well. Oh well, it’s all in good fun.
I haven’t done a whole bunch the last week. This past weekend I watched Dawson’s Creek on Friday (big surprise there). Saturday I hung out with Lindsey for a bit. We went to Red Lobster for lunch (thanks MarBil gift card), to Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and then to Borders. I miss hanging out with her these days. I used to see her all the time and now it’s like every couple months.
Saturday also had a $10 poker tournament at Aaron’s so I went up there for that. I was the 2nd one out, so I bought back in. I made it to the final table but then I was the first one out there. Rob was tearing it up and he ending up winning. $90 pot, not a bad days work.
Sunday was a game in the pure ghetto. Bethlehem Lutheran Church is in north St. Louis. It’d be a great looking church if only more than half the windows were in tact and not broken. It really is a shame. We won though, and played pretty well. We have a tournament there in a couple weeks and I sure hope we don’t get shot.
New Year’s eve I ended up having a few people over and then we went out to Shenanigans for the ball dropping. I had quite a bit that night and as a result I was pretty sick by the time I went to bed.
Had a bball tournament this weekend, won 1, then lost 2, then had someone quit. He had been thinking about quitting and had been one of the one’s missing practices for awhile. You kind of take it personal when someone says they quit because of your coaching style, but it was pretty much unfounded. He wasn’t that great of a player anyway. I haven’t done a whole lot the last week really besides basketball stuff. I have tomorrow night off so maybe I’ll clean some and take care of some errands.
