It’s been fairly uneventful the last week. Especially coming down from the weirdness of the last entry.

Monday night I didn’t do much of anything. Tuesday night I had small groups and we went to IHOP, then played some basketball. Of course I always wear flip flops when it’s warm enough, so that was fun. Wednesday was much of anything either. Thursday, I had a this sweet idea to go to Cutters to partake in their 10 cent hotwings. We got there about 9:30, only to realize it’s a happy hour special (this fact is not on the outside sign). Turned out ok, though, because the kitchen was still open and they have really good and cheap food.

Friday night I watched Dawson’s creek and hung out at Borders for a bit. Yesterday was a gettogether/poker tourney in Eville. I got 4th in both games. We also played some sweet whiffle ball and ate dinner at Jack in the Box. Not bad.

Today I have this extra time in the morning because we’re not playing, so I don’t have to be there until 10:45. After church I’m going to lunch with Lindsey at Red Lobster to catch up.

I’m getting an extra check from SIUE. I got something in the mail saying that I never cashed a check from Dec 04. So like a year after I got it, they tell me I never cashed it. I think I did get it and cash it, but if they say I never cashed it, who am I to argue. I’ll get my replacement check in a couple weeks I imagine.

I have had absolutely without a doubt the oddest girl events in my life.

I meet this shorty at WC on Thursday night. We really seem to hit it off. We’re talking, dancing, major grinding. We really got along great. I got her number, walked her out to her car, and she said I better call. It was looking pretty sweet.

I call on Friday. I normally call two days but I thought I would take a chance and call her the next day. I call, we talk, decide to go out on Saturday night. Pretty sweet. I said I would call on Saturday to setup a time and get directions and stuff like that.

I call on Saturday about 2. No answer. I call back about 4, no answer, leave a message. Never received a call back. I figure she had blew me off. Not interested, boyfriend drame (she broke up and they got back together, etc). Not a huge deal, it’s happened before. I found it odd that she seemed so into me, even telling me that I better call her.

Sunday, I call about 1, I say something along the lines of I guess you blew me off, in case there was some misunderstanding call me, but otherwise don’t and I’ll never call you back either. I figured that was that. I did not expect to hear back from her, because I was really sure she had blown me off.

About an hour ago (Sunday night), she calls me. She tells me she wasn’t completely honest with me. She said she had a boyfriend, and that she was so taken aback by my charm and looks, that she lied about having a boyfriend. Her boyfriend found out she had been talking to me and forbid her from talking to me ever again or going to WC without him. She said it’s a pretty messed up relationship. I gathered that. So long story short, she lied because she liked me so much, then blew me off when she got caught talking to me. Then she calls because she figures she owed me an explanation, which I agree with.

The whole thing worked out for the best, I guess. I would not want to be with a girl that would like about not having a boyfriend because she’s hit on by a guy like me. And it was flattering in kind of sick way that she would lie because I was so good looking and charming (her words not mine). So, I can look at the whole thing as a confidence boost. She was much hotter than the kind of girl I could see myself with, but lied because she liked me so much. Sick, twisted, kind of odd, but flattering.

A very weird 4 days it has been.

Off to Applebees in a bit. This is a pay Applebees trip. I’m fresh out of gift cards. I only have access to Pizza Hut cards now.

I have been going through a weird crossroads in my life. I used to think I had everything figured out. Now I don’t know for sure, but I guess that keeps it exciting. I know my job is for sure, but it can always be taken away so easily. I would think about switching, but there’s no way I could make what I make now, and then factor in the fringe benefits and the commute time as part of the change, and it would be tough again. At least I have a good severage package if I ever get laid off. At least enough to make it until I find another job.

I’m seriously thinking about getting a dog. I’ve been thinking about it pretty much since I moved in, and I think I’m going through with it. I’m going to humane society sometimein the next few days.

I have done so little over the last couple weeks I can’t even make myself type anything.

Man I have totally been slacking on my blog. Of course I catch up on a Friday night.

Not a whole lot of note has happened of the last couple of weeks. I’ve been watching a lot of TV and a lot of Netflix. I’m going through all of the movies that were up for Best Picture this past year.

Last week was my 23rd birthday. I didn’t do much on my birthday, but Friday I went out to Aaron’s to hang out. We played a decent size poker tournament, and just hung out for awhile. I found out that night that the get-together was in honor of my birthday. I guess they found out off of Facebook. It was good to know they remembered.

Saturday morning I had to help get our new hand-built Amish furniture in the office. I look at that stuff and I’m amazed what they can make without the use of power tools.

The next night I went to The Old Spagetti Factory with the family. We went to the one in Chesterfield. That place has the highest percentage of hot girls that I think I have ever seen.

This past week I didn’t do all that much again. A good share of Netflix. I got pretty behind on TV throughout the course of the week but I should be caught up by the end of the weekend.

My parents have Alex for the weekend, and tomorrow we’re going to Long Acre. It’s a lot of fun taking that kid to parks. It’s so amazing watching him grow up before your very eyes.
