Weekend
Last night I didn’t really do much of anything. I watched Braveheart, which is both really long and really good. I remember now why it won Best Picture in 1995.
Today I’ve been sitting around. I’m going to swing by Borders and the Mall on the way to Steph and Joel’s for his birthday party tonight. And, there’s a Mobil by their house, so I can use one of my gift cards for some cheaper gas.
Tomorrow we’re going out for my Mom’s birthday. I don’t have any idea where we’re going.
Eyes
I had my eye doctor appt today. It was pretty basic, except for they gave me a trial pair. My eye appointments in the past never gave me trial pairs, so that’s nice.
Kind of a slow day at work today. Slow days always make me tried.
After work I headed to the mall to see if I would win anything with this raffle. I didn’t. No one in attendance one anything. I could have won over a hundred thousand.
Man I’m Getting Old
Every year when Sept comes around I realize how old I’m getting. I think back to high school and some of it I remember pretty clearly, but a lot of what I remember happened 6 or 7 years ago. It’s just pretty weird.
Today was pretty typical at work. Tonight I watched Star Trek Generations. It was pretty good. I didn’t remember it being as good as I thought it was tonight.
Tomorrow morning I have a eye doctor appointment, which means I don’t have to go into work until quite a bit later than my norm, so that’s a nice touch. I also have my miniscule chance of winning a house tomorrow at 6:30pm. It’s one of those things where they have expensive tickets but they sell a very limited amount. It’s for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of IL, so it’s for a good cause.
Hmm
I forgot just how good of a movie ET is. I saw it a long time ago, and had pretty much forgotten all of it. It is a really sweet movie.
Last night we had a premeeting for our small groups. I think this year will be even better than last. It’s a little more structured, which is probably good considering that we never really did all that much.
I watched Chicago tonight, which is also really good. I’m a fan of musicals anyway, and I really enjoyed it. I’ve still been tinkering around with recording stuff. My skills are coming along, and hopefully I’ll get decent after awhile.
It is really is cool when you play all the instruments and then mix it together. For my current project check out My version of Amazing Grace
The first part sounds pretty decent. The second part sounds kind of muddy, I know. But it’s a work in progress, and don’t forget, I recorded all the parts. Ha. It’s kind of weird.
Ultra Exciting
It’s been a pretty down weekend. Friday night was pretty much nothing. Yesterday I did nothing all day, and then went out to Eville to hang with Darren and Lisa. We ending up watching The Sentinel, which is pretty good, and throwing a few back.
Today I played guitar at church and then played with Alex for awhile. We went out to the airport to pick up Steph and Joel. Tonight I might to the store, and I’m watching ET.
Sweet Drifting
So we know drifting’s cool. But how about drifing with RC cars!!!
Call me Russell Simmons
The most notable event of the last few days has been me mixing some music. I’m still getting the hang of it, but I’m making progress. I still need to get a bass to complete it, but it’s pretty cool. I can play all the parts and then mix it all together.
I don’t really have crap going on this weekend. I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow. I guess I’ll run in the morning sometime.
On Sunday I play the guitar again. Should be good. It’s nice for a change to play something else and just to keep things interesting.
Uneventful
The last 24 have been pretty uneventful.
I found out I had no small groups last night and that worked out well, because I was considering not going even if there were.
For the first time in my life, I only have basic cable. I rarely watch it, and it was part of my stipulation about buying a laptop. I do still get TBS, USA, and FX. That should do it. USA runs so much SVU that it’s almost worth it by itself.
I also reorganized my studio last night. It really needed it, and now, it looks pretty good. I toyed around with some recording stuff, nothing to serious so far. I’m trying to avoid buying stupidly expensive software.
Email working again
This was great. I had noticed since last night my email was acting up. This happens time and again, so I didn’t worry.
Still didn’t work this morning. Then I get to work and some of our email wasn’t working there. Turns after, after some digging, I find out that the catchalls all got reset to bounce the messages. So after going through all of the sites, I get everything working again. Hopefully I didn’t get anything all that important between 9 last night and noon today.
Update
Sunday was Joel’s birthday fiesta. We went to Lottawatta Creek for dinner. Kind of ruined my diet a little bit because there’s so much food there.
We had Alex for the weekend and he was fun as normal.
I’m going to start playing guitar in one of the bands at my church, too. It’s kind of weird. I feel like I’m the unofficial leader there because I’ve been playing in the other band so long. Of course I kind of enjoy being in charge, so it works out well. I figure this should help me improve on guitar, too, because it forces me to practice more.
Tonight I have small groups. Tomorrow, probably nothing. Thursday, who knows. The weekend, very little.
I may have to dabble in some recording stuff now that I have my laptop ready to go.
