Ho Ho Ho

Merry Christmas! I know I’m a couple days late, but I really haven’t had a chance.

Sunday was Christmas Eve. We went to see Alex in the Christmas program at his church, and it was really great. He was a little sidetracked for one of the songs. He kept looking at this huge manger next to him. But after that he kept singing and even doing hand motions. It was amazing.

After that was back to Zion for our service. That was pretty typical. Then we headed back to Steph and Joel’s for games and stuff. It was really good.

We also opened up gifts Christmas Eve at the M’s. I got a few sweet things. iPod Shuffle, a few gift cards, and stuff. Really good.

Christmas was at my parent’s house. It was pretty typical, although it was untypically fun.

The day after I took off work. Didn’t do a whole lot. Went to Kohl’s, Guitar Center, bought a couple things and exchanged some stuff. That night we went to The Eagles Nest for dinner. After waiting about an hour, we got our food and it was up to the Eagles Nest level.

Last night was the TSO concert. It was INCREDIBLE. With the exception of one 12 minute song, it was unbelievable. The music was really sweet, and the lights, I mean THE LIGHTS. I don’t even know how you get lights and make them work like that. EVERY SONG had new and different lights–and they played for about 3 hours. It was great. I plan on going again next year.

Not so Bad

This week has been much more bearable than the last week.

I’ve almost finished up my Christmas shopping. Tuesday night I saw Blood Diamond with my Dad. It’s a GREAT movie. I highly recommend it. After you watch it you will think twice about buying diamonds–I will.

I’ve tried my hand at backing this week, too. I made some peanut butter cookies that didn’t have any flavor so I threw them away. I made some funfetti cookies last night, and they were incredible.

Last night I cleaned and relaxed and watched World Trade Center which was pretty good.

Tonight was some Cutters, shopping, and TV.

Tomorrow night I’ll probably finish my Christmas shopping and wrap everything. Saturday is relaxing in the morning, then band practice and a get-together at the Tayon’s in the evening.

Ghostrider

Maybe I should get a motorcycle.

This guy is called Ghostrider. He drives pretty crazy, yes, but you must admit it is pretty cool.

Great Weekend

I’ve really had a great weekend.

Thursday the gang and I went to Cutters for food. After that I had to run some errands to finish getting the gift cards for the attendance prizes at the small groups party.

Friday night was the small groups party over at the Hagen’s. It was a really good time. They liked the attendance prizes.

Yesterday I hung out during the day and then went to the Bieri’s massive party last night. Lauren and Lisa both graduated, Christmas, and the engagement. I didn’t know many people there, but nonetheless, it was really fun.

Today, we won our game. We played really well, and came out on top in the end. It was a fun game. After that I kept the books in the next game. After cleaning up, I got went over to my parent’s to eat dinner because Steph and Joel were picking up Alex.

This week should be good. I don’t really have anything going on all week. I need to finish up my Christmas shopping, bake some cookies, and relax.

We also have a new girl, Melody, at work. Her being there is great because it makes my job a lot easier, not to mention, it will allow me to take off every once in awhile. I think I might take off some time in February of next year. I would take it off sooner, but with basketball going I’m stuck here until the season’s over.

Busy Week

I’ve been pretty busy all week.

Practice on Monday, Christmas shopping on Tuesday, church and practice on Wednesday.

Last night we all went to Cutters. After that I did some more shopping for the small groups party tonight at Jordan’s.

Tomorrow I finally get to sleep in before Lisa’s big bash. Sunday is another home game and hard work.

On the bright side, after Sunday, my schedule is a little more forgiving. There’s no practice next week. I just have to finish up my shopping.

Another day at the beach

What a weekend!

Again I say, what a weekend. It was perhaps the most eventful weekend I’ve had in a long time.

Friday, Darren asked if I’d be the DD for him and Lisa at the Zip party. And, for my labors, I could spend a couple of hours at the party. Well worth it. I kind of expected something like in the office parties you see on TV and movies. Yeah, not exactly. I get there about 11pm, and hear thumping music from outside. I get inside, and there are nude painted models poising and dancing! I guess I should have seen something like this coming. A place that has an open bar all the time, you would expect some wild parties. Well anyway, they had a DJ with a slammin system, open bar (this I expected), and nude models. Pretty sweet. We left about 1:30. I took them back to Edwardsville, where Darren proceeded to throw up in his front yard. I got back to my place a little after 3. I haven’t been up that late since college I think. It was really fun.

Saturday I slept it. After that I cleaned up the place and ran a couple of errands. I was preparing for the 1st annual Christmas movie marathon. Darren and Lisa came over and we were going to watch Home Alone 1 and 2 and the Santa Claus. We only got in two before they were both asleep.

Yesterday was our first home game. It did not go as I hoped it would. We played ok, but the other team just had us. They had a lot of strong players. So we lost, by quite a bit. And, one of the players took a bad fall and broke his wrist pretty bad, so now we’re a little short handed.

After that I stayed to keep the books in the second game. I then cleaned up with the help of my Dad. After that I was pretty exhausted and majorly hungry because I hadn’t eaten all day. I took it easy the rest of the day and watched Home Alone 2 last night to finish out the movie marathon solo.

I have crap going on pretty much all week again. At least I’m staying busy.

Hmmm

Last night, after Nick showed up a bit late to my apartment with the pizza, we headed up to Eville. We dropped the pizza off at Darren’s, then headed to the SIUE BBall game. It was a really sweet game and we won.

After that, we went back to Darren’s to eat and hang out.

Tonight, I am picking up Darren and Lisa from the Zip party where they will both most likely be trashed.

I told them about the Trans Siberian Orchestra tickets. They seem pretty stoked. It’s great because I really wanted to, too.

Tomorrow is the first annual Christmas Movie Marathon. We’re watching Home Alone, Home Alone 2, and The Santa Claus.

Sunday is our first home game. I’m hoping for a good turnout and that we play pretty well. We did get the tshirts in today and they are pretty sweet. Hopefully they’ll help the team moral.

Keeping Busy

I’ve been relatively busy the last few days. Monday night was Flame practice, last night was small groups, and tonight was church and odds and ends.

Tomorrow night I’m probably heading up to Eville to hang with the gang. Friday who knows. Saturday is probably going to be the first annual Christmas movie night. Sunday is our first home game. I’m hoping we do well and get a good crowd turnout.

Interesting Weekend

Thursday we got a pretty serious snow and ice storm. A whole lot of the area lost power Thursday night, and a lot of people still don’t have it. I was lucky at my apartment, I only lost it for a little while Thursday night.

As a result of the power problems, Steph, Joel, and Alex came over for a couple days to Mom and Dads, because they did have power.

Saturday they all came over for my Dad’s birthday celebration. It was the first time having family over. It was ok. The place is a little tight, but I can’t complain. I even have ornaments on my tree now because Mom got me some.

Today was the Flame’s first game. We played pretty well, but we lost. We have a couple home games over the next couple weeks, so hopefully we can change this around.
