Busy Busy Busy
I’ve gone from not much to do to barely able to get it all done.
I’ve started my class for this semester. It was going to be numerical computation, then it was going to be computer security, now it’s numerical computation again. I have Dr. Wu. Of that fact I am not thrilled. He is, however, better than I remember him. I will actually have to work to do ok in grad school, though. I think I may have to become a regular at the St. Louis Bread co. They have free wifi there. I find that when I try to do work in my apartment, I get sidetracked. It’s easier for me to focus when I go there. And I can drink all the soda I want while I’m there.
I’m also starting on my latest venture. I can’t divuldge yet what it is, but it has to do with the modeling industry, and I think it is my biggest idea yet.
Jordin
Man, I’m kind of pissed off that Jordin won American Idol. I really hoped that Blake would win.
Arghh.
In other news, my class should be ok this summer.
Changes Coming
I’ve had a pretty good few days.
I’ve still been running and lifting. I’m up to running about 6 miles.
Thursday night I went to Cutters to hang out with Darren and Lisa for a bit. That’s my last time for awhile being able to hang out with the crew on Thursdays. My class starts this week and it’s Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8:15.
Yesterday was the Mayfest Parade in Ofallon. It was a lot of fun. I love playing, and I really like parades.
Today I didn’t do all that much. After church I went to my parent’s house to eat lunch and lay out for a bit. I’m trying to get more tan to be ready for Hawaii. It’s only about 6 weeks away.
Tomorrow we’re playing at the Zion carnival. I get to leave work early, and we’re playing for like 3 hours.
Tuesday night my class starts. I’m about half excited for it. I think it’s not really that I’m excited about the class or going back to school, but moreso I’m excited about having something new going on in my life again. Knowing my schedule will change every semester will definitely help my mental state.
Pretty good week
I had a good weekend.
Saturday morning I got up mad early and went out to Chesterfield with my family to go yard saleing with the rest of the family. I didn’t really got anything worthwhile, but it’s fun going sometimes.
Sunday was Mother’s Day. The Maisenhelder’s came over about 3. We went to Belleview(?) park in west Belleville. We just walked the trail and hung out for a bit. We got back and just chilled for awhile until we had shrimp and steak for dinner. Not much after the the Maisenhelder’s went home.
I haven’t done much of anything this week otherwise. I did have small groups last night. I won’t be able to be there all summer because my class starts next Tuesday.
We have new employee at work. Her name is Barb. I see a lot of potential in her–her first day was Monday.
I’m not really sure what I’m doing the rest of the week, only that I’m playing in a parade on Saturday for Club, and I’m pretty stoked about that.
Odd week so far
Well, I’ve had a little bit of a different week.
I saw Spider-man 3 on Wednesday. It was alright, but I gotta tell you it wasn’t that great. Too many things are going on the whole time. I guess with how overhyped it’s been for a long time, it’s hard to live up to it.
I also had some insurance problems. I tried to refill a prescription earlier this week. The pharmacy then tells me that my coverage has been discontinued. At first, I thought it was because I had reapplied for insurance to a get a lower rate, and I had to give them a new account number. But that wasn’t it. They had me in the system, but no longer active.
So then I call my insurance company, and they tell me that I’m active and everything’s fine. They said I should call the pharmaceutical branch of the insurance. So I do, and they tell me I’m not active. So this is great. I’m starting to get a little upset. So I call back the insurance company, and tell them all of this. They say that the other people have to update their records. I started getting a little upset. They transferred me to a benefit person who, after a little digging, figured out this is fairly common. I guess, even though I paid on time and always have, the payment system has some delays before it reflects in the prescription stuff. She said it’s not common, but happens from time to time. So there was like a 5 day period over this last week where I would have had to pay full price for any prescription. That’s what I ended up doing, because I needed it. I can get reimbursed for it either today or Monday. So I don’t end up paying any more, but it is kind of an inconvenience for no fault of my own.
Last night, I went to Edwardsville with Nick. Darren, He, I, Lisa, Brandon, and Brian Keyes hung out for awhile. We grilled out and played poker. I was the first one out, of course
Today I’m heading to SIUE to make sure there isn’t anything I’m forgetting about before classes start in a couple weeks.
Tonight I’m working out, and getting a Mother’s day gift for Sunday.
Letting Loose
I didn’t do much this past week with the exception of going out Friday night. Actually, the Nick, Darren, and Lisa came over on Thursday and we watched Alpha Dog. I see now why it didn’t go great in Theaters. It was pretty bad. I expected more from Emile Hersch. Friday night Darren, Lisa, and I went out for a I guess and end of semester pre Cinco de Mayo night. We went to Shenanigans. I end up kind of being a jerk to to Darren and Lisa that night. I’ve since apologized and we’re all squared away.
Saturday I felt really crappy all day, and I laid around all day. I ended up going to Borders for a little while to read, but that’s it, and that wasn’t until like 8.
Sunday I played guitar, and then we headed out to Steph and Joel’s new house. They moved from Maryland Heights to Chesterfield. Their new house is pretty nice. It’s even got a little playground in the back for Alex.
Blake Lewis
One of my favorite American Idol performances
Whole bunch of nothing
I didn’t really do anything the entire last week.
I’ve been working out and watching movies, but that’s pretty much it.
Yesterday, however, was something. It was the Club potluck dinner and performance. This happens at the end of every year they do it. There’s a dinner, ceremony type thing, and then we get to play. I normally really enjoy playing, but it was really fun yesterday. I got a new wireless pack last week, and I got to use it for the first time yesterday. It’s so liberating being able to move without worrying about your cable. It was really awesome. It was the last show with Matt on lead. He’s a pretty awesome guitarist, and he will be missed. Supposedly I’m going to take over on lead next year. I need to get better if I’m going to be any good at it. I’m contemplating getting lessons. I haven’t decided yet. They’re kind of expensive.
