Politics

I’ve never considered myself that political. Not that many things bother me.

For instance, I know that the Constitution has never been a high priority for this administration. Privacy rights, trial rights, have taken a backseat to “national security”.

I’m also no particular fan of Dick Cheney. He’s become almost laughable. Now he claims that he’s no longer in the Executive branch! What were the constitution writers thinking when they put that the Vice President is in the executive branch?

Of course, Bush likes to speak in logical paradox’s that I doubt he can understand. The only way we can lose the war is if we leave before the job is done. Meaning as long as we stay there, we’re winning! Gotta love it.

On CNN today they had some viewer poll about what the next generation of Iraqis will be like. Some view wrote in, and I’m paraphrasing, that we’ve given them a reason to hate us even more.

They also had a comment that we are not able to find Bin Laden, but even if we do, we’ve help create thousands of people who would gladly take his place.

Bush and Cheney. What a team.

Observations

For those of you that don’t know, I have 2 close male friends–Nick and Darren.

For some odd reason, black girls like Nick (he’s white). Nothing racist about it, just stating facts.

For some other odd reason, 40 women like me. I’ve noticed this for awhile, but man it really is true. The 40 crowd are big fans. They all wish they had nieces or daughters to set me up with. Of course these things don’t ever happen or pan out, but they say they wish they did.

And then there’s Darren. Most girls like Darren.

Time Flying

It’s hard to believe that the semester’s almost half over. I have my midterm one week from tonight. It’s odd that when my class started, it seemed really weird, but it’s already become very normal and it’s hard to remember what my life was like when I didn’t have class.

So far I’m doing well in class. I got a 29/30 on the first program. We haven’t gotten the 2nd one back yet, and the third one is due tomorrow. I just finished it.

I might have to work a little harder soon. Not that I’ve been slacking off, but because I do have to miss 2 classes for the vacation coming up.

I can’t believe I’m going to be off of work for 9 days. I haven’t had off more than 4 in a row since I started. They say that it really changes your outlook on stuff when you come back because you’re so much more relaxed.

Still busy

I’ve still been keeping pretty busy. My class at is not so much difficult as it is time consuming. I’ve been spending 3-4 nights a week at the Bread Co doing homework and stuff. I remember they always used to have some crap line when I was an undergrad about spending 2 hours of work outside of class for every hour of class. I’d say I do a little more than that now. Of course I never did back then, but I guess I never had to, and I never cared about my grades that much.

I haven’t made as much progress on my new side project lately as I would have liked, but I’m more stoked than ever that it could be big, really big.

I think I’m starting to get used to being as busy as I am, but it still kind of sucks, because I was very used to my old schedule.

My parents have Alex for the rest of this week. Saturday we went to his Tball game. He gets shy sometimes, and his game was one of those times. He wouldn’t play when we got there. I was a little mad, but more than anything I was disappointed. That night my broker had some extra tickets for the Grizzlies game, so the family and I went out there. It was fun. It’s nice because you get a lot more for your money than at the big stadium.

Unknown publicity

It’s odd, because I’ve always thought that no one reads my blog. In the last few days, however, I’ve found out that more people do than I realized. I’ve always done it for myself. Anyway, it’s pretty cool people actually look at it.

I’ve still been busy with class. I think I’ll get As in grad school. It seems like the thing to do.

I’m at the Bread Company a lot (Panera to those of you not local). They have free wifi, and I find I can get work done better there (actually, I’m there while typing this).

Friday night was the Shriners parade. The club band played, and of course we were awesome. The weather was looking rainy for a long time, but it held out.

Saturday I didn’t do much of anything. I did some homework and reading for awhile. And, I watched the first disc of Roots on DVD. I’ve had roots in my netflix queue for years, literally. It finally came out on DVD. It was really great. I should have the 2nd disc for this weekend.

Yesterday I just hung out. My sleeping’s been out of whack for awhile, so I got to bed early.
