Music and House

Most of what I’ve been up to lately has been working on either my house or playing music somewhere.

I’ve had a lot of band practice lately to get ready for the Gospel on the Green. It’s this thing my church is having and there are 3 bands playing, and I’m in 2. I play the drums in one and guitar in another.

The band I play drums in, I’ve played with them for almost 7 years (I think). We play in church Sunday mornings.

The band I play guitar in, plays Sunday evenings for at this other thing at my church called Club 66. It’s this big thing for kids they do, and we play at the opening every week. We also play parades throughout the year. We had a show the other night at a different church. There were 5 bands there. We did ok. I’ve would have liked to have done better, but that’s how it goes. So Saturday’s the big show for both bands, and I need to be on my A game for both bands.

My dad and I have been working on the house, doing odds and ends here and there. Gutters, wiring, etc. I knew I would have to buy a lot of stuff having a house, but I guess I didn’t realize how much stuff you really do have to buy with a house. I bought a lawnmower just the other day.

More Updates

Well, I am no longer a Masters student. I decided that it’s not really for me. I did ok, it’s not like I’m stopping because i can’t cut. I just really don’t want to do it anymore. It’s kind of hard to explain. Anway, I’m done.

In other news, the band stuff is in full swing now. We had our first show of the season at the church picnic yesterday. I was pretty worried at first, but it came together a lot more after a few practice songs.

Saturday was Alex’s 5th birthday party. It’s hard to believe that he’s as old as he is. I can remember the day that he was born like it was yesterday.

I’m still working on my house. Tomorrow after work my dad and I are putting on some new flashing around the chimney. I also have to work on my gutters. It appears they’re pretty clogged, because they don’t seem to do anything.
