Light o Rama

I will admit I’ve been slacking for awhile on blogging.  I used to try for once a week.  Then it became something like once every other week.  I’m going to try to step it up and back in the normal swing again.

I’ve been spending most of my free time preparing my Christmas display.  I’m becoming “that guy”.  I have this Light o Rama display.  It’s a 32 channel setup with audio.  I have a low power FM transmitter to get the audio to cars driving by.  I have the controllers in the breezeway.

I remember when I got it thinking that I would need a lot of extension cords.  I suppose it didn’t really sink in unti I start buying extension cords.  I don’t kow what the exact total is yet, but I’m predicting about 55.  Because of that, mainly, it’s costing  a lot more than I expected.  I bought the controllers several months ago.  Most of the lights I already had.  I did have to get some floodlights and stuff.  Mostly, I’ve been buying extension cords.  I’ve already had to buy 2 different Walmarts out of them.  Most of the costs are an upfront one time thing.  You don’t have to spend that much every year.

The rest of the time I’ve been working on the sequence.  It’s all through this computer program and you basically program all 32 channels to do whatever you want them to do.

I have pretty high hopes for this.  With any luck I might get in the paper or on TV.  Worst case word of mouth should be pretty good.

This is Not It

It appears that I was mistaken.  I thought I had a chance with that girl–but I guess she wasn’t into me.  Kinda sucks, but life goes on.

I’m doing a pretty sweet light display for Christmas this year.  I’m debuting my 32 channel Light-o-Rama system.  I have the low power fm transmitter for the music and everything.  I’ll have a video up when I get everything going.  I budgeted October for animation sequencing and November for installation.  To help get the feel for it, I did put up a small Halloween display to get myself a little familiar with how everything works.  I’m hoping and thinking that over Christmas time people will make it a point and word of mouth will spread to get a lot of people to come look at them.
